At the start of March 2025 the Annnd…Action! Photo Booth, LLC Google business profile was disabled from Google business listings. Coincidentally, about 25 other photo booth business owners we know in California (and other states too, actually!) reported the same action about the same time. This means we no longer have a presence on Google listings when you do a geo search for local photo booth businesses and all of our reviews are now gone.
Background: Google will not list a business profile if the company uses a mail service or UPS store address, as we now do; even if you have a business license or other official mail going to the same address. We had been on Google for 8.5 years with no issues.
This Google action forces small service-area businesses like Annnd…Action! Photo Booth to reveal the owners home addresses and potentially provide private information which no other large corporations or non-service area businesses need to do.
We relented and gave them our personal information in an attempted appeals process and three weeks later (March 31st) were denied. Despite an active link supposedly leading to a further review, we are instead clicking through an endless circular path of multiple browser windows, and not get any further in the process of appeal or any contact with Google. We did find that alternatively, a small business owner can pay Google $39.95 per appointment to speak with one of their “Small business advisors” and maybe, or maybe not; get the Google profile reinstated. Google is essentially making small service area businesses “pay to play” which is unfair to all other businesses that are allowed a free listing. We find this action to be invasive and unjust to ALL service-area local businesses like photographers, DJs, handymen, plumbers, IT professionals and the like.
Because of Google’s actions, you will no longer find us on Google (as of this writing, March 31, 2025), but we continue to explore the options and hope that Google will see sense so we can return to our highly ranked profile soon.
